If, like me, you would like to reduce the amount of single use plastic you use but are on a budget no need to worry there are still things you can do, small changes you can make that will help you start your plastic free journey.
Use bar shampoo not bottled.
Use a face cloth not face wipes.
Use soap instead of hand wash.
Buy a reusable coffee cup and ask for your take away coffee in it.
Buy a reusable water bottle - even a plastic one reduces your waste.
Carry a canvas shopping bag on you at all times.
Buy a reusable metal straw and carry it in your bag.
Buy large tubs of herbs and spices and decant.
Buy washing up liquid and other cleaning products in bulk.
Try a plastic free cleaning alternative such as Smol.
Bulk buy rice and pasta and decant into smaller containers.
Buy loose fruit and veg and bring your own produce bag.
Buy wooden items such as hairbrushes and toothbrushes.
Buy Cornettos not ice-cream to scoop.
Use beeswax wraps instead of cling film - it's not as expensive as you think!
And as always my advice is to start small and work you way up.
I hope these ideas will help you on your plastic free journey without breaking the bank.
So which one will you start with?
Victoria xx
P.S.
If you have more suggestions let me know and I’d add them to my list, just make sure they are easy to implement and aren’t prohibitively expensive.
