What is national bed month?
Quite simply it's all about sleep.
It's about getting enough and the right quality of sleep.
Why sleep?
Sleep is so much more important than most of us realise. It's vital for your health and wellbeing and in fact lack of sleep can adversely effect your mental health and make you prone to illness. Sleep deprivation is very real and not something to be taken lightly.
During sleep your body heals, repairs and restores. The immune, nervous, skeletal, and muscular systems all benefit. These repairs are vital to your health and wellbeing as they help maintain mood, memory, and cognitive function.
Sleep also plays huge part in the function of the endocrine system - basically it helps keep your hormones under control and also supports your immune system.
How do I get a good nights sleep?
I have three easy steps for you to try:
Routine - create a bedtime routine, go to bed and wake at the same time each day.
Space - create a sanctuary to help you relax.
Bed - the right bed and mattress are key.
Have a look at this blog for a more in depth look at the three steps.
Follow the steps...a great nights sleep awaits you!
